Hmm i MUST be in this book somwhere...
As a former Resident of Bar Harbor from 1975-1998 i find this a wonderful book for anyone who likes small town life. Plus most of my friends were in there at one time or another. Its a great insight into the Bar Harbor of the 70's and 80's in the Pre tourist trap years.

We Keep our Copy in the Bathroom
Bizarre and sublime bits of true life humor that only a small town can provide. I open it to any page for a poop long chuckle.

Good Book! Very funny police reports!
This book is a collection of police reports from Mount Desert Island, Maine, home of Acadia National Park. Some are very funny!

Registered Landscape Architect
A beautiful book evoking imagery of a time past that had been very instrumental in inspiring and providing access to America's love and appeciation of nature. In this book we are shown how these roads led us to our collective love of natural beauty in America - literally and metaphorically - in an historically accurate and academic work by the author whose love of these roads in Acadia and of nature's wonders in general are delightfully evident. Exquisite photographs!

A well-crafted and entertaining suspense yarn
David Rawson has created a believable Maine town with interesting and quirky characters. His attention to detail puts an interesting twist on an old formula. A genuinely enjoyable page turner. I'm looking forward to his next novel, and wouldn't mind hearing from these characters again.

The Wonderful Wild Flowers of Mt. Desert Island

Discover the beautiful world of MDI's flowers.
This is an excellent reference book for both the casual flower watcher or botanist. The plants and flowers are illustrated with color photos helping to ease confusion between species. The one problem is that the photos do not appear next to the text which leads to extra page flipping. An index would also be useful. This is a well researched, useful and attractive book.
